Nellie M. Gott, 97, of Mansfield Ohio, formerly of Wellington, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2014. Born on August 31, 1916 in Hayesville, Ohio to the late Clara May (nee Eckenberger) and Wade Strine, she was a 1935 graduate of Hayesville High School. Nellie was at one time employed as a custodian for the Wellington schools. She was also a housewife and enjoyed working on the farm. Nellie was a member of the Brighton Congregational Church and the Jolly Crafters. She spent time bowling and walking and also loved playing cards and doing needlework. Nellie is survived by her children, Bonnie Anderson of Columbus, Frederick (Donna) Gott of Wellington, Betty (Ronald) Hershey of Mansfield, 6 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 step great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Gaylord Strine. She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, George Frederick; son-in-law, Gary Anderson and a brother, Harold Strine. Family and friends will be received on Monday, January 13, 2014 from 3-7 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main Street, Wellington. Services will be Tuesday beginning at 11 a.m. at the Brighton Congregational Church, 22086 State Rt. 511, Wellington, with Rev. John Burgess officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
