Nioma Melissa Sackett, 95, of Elyria, passed peacefully on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Welcome Nursing Home with family by her side. Born on August 24, 1922 in Indiana, PA, she was the daughter of the late Marguerite (nee King) and Frank Pfeiffer. Nioma grew up in Indiana and moved to Lorain County in 1950. A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Nioma truly cherished time with her family. Survivors include her daughters, Jean Lute, of Amherst and Debbie (Tom Jr.) Black, of Wellington; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, George Hood, of Indiana, PA and numerous nieces and nephews. Nioma was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Ernest Sackett, in 2001; sisters, Leila and Arlene; and son-in-law, Andrew Lute. Burial will take place at a later date at Ridge Hill Cemetery.
