Nora Ellen Byrne, 89, of New London, died Monday, August 29, 2011 at the Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at Firelands in New London. She was born August 7, 1922 in Braxton County, West Virginia to the late Hulbert and Lida (James) McLaughlin. Nora lived in West Virginia and moved to New London in the early 60's. She enjoyed gardening, reading, garage sales and spending time with her grandchildren. Nora is survived by her daughters, Linda (Robert) Reed of Norwalk and Patricia Trimble of New London; son, David (Marlene) Byrne of Willard; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Freda McLaughlin of Sutton, West Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus; daughter, Nancy Byrne; grandson, Scott Byrne; 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31 at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Grove Cemetery, New London with Pastor Bob Hudberg officiating.
