Norma Gladys McConnell, 82, of New London, died Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Doverwood Rehab Center, Westchester OH.  She was born February 14, 1943, in New London to the late Lillian (Spencer) and Verl Cotter.  Norma was a graduate of New London High School, Class of 1961. Over the years, Norma worked at Kent Sporting Goods, New London Hospital, housekeeping and caring for seniors in their home and housekeeping and activities at the Laurels of New London.  Norma attended the First Baptist Church in New London and enjoyed painting ceramics, bowling, quilting, playing cards and especially spending time with her family and friends. Additionally, she cherished her great-grandchildren.

Norma is survived by her 4 children, Christine (Jon Trollen) McConnell of Cincinnati, Steve (Valerie Harms) McConnell of Cincinnati, Linda (Mike) Minton of Cincinnati, and Denise (Aaron Salmon) McConnell of New London; 11 grandchildren, Andrew, Katie, Kim, Rachael, Vages, Marie, Alex, Dare, Drew, Lydia and Alyssa; 4 great grandchildren, Emmet, Otti, Kaia and Psalm; Siblings, Luthur (Cam) Cotter, Carl (Diane) Cotter, Albert (Julie) Cotter and Naomi Hicks as well as several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; Husband, Dare "Ed" McConnell; infant son, Jonathan McConnell; and brother, Robert Cotter.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 11:30 am until the time of the service at 1:30 pm at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main Street, New London.  Burial will follow at Grove Street Cemetery in New London. First Baptist Church is hosting a meal for Norma's family and friends, following the burial.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society through the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy can be made at eastmanfuneralhome.com.
