Normal F. Skeen, 85, of Wellington, died Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Kingston of Ashland. Mr. Skeen was born in Kenna, West Virginia on September 22, 1924 to Robert and Ester (nee Wandling) Skeen. He proudly served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corps.
Normal worked for Ford Motor Company at the Brookpark plant for 33 years; he was very dedicated to his job. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 8 in Wellington.
Survivors include his three children, Loretta Kaye (Gary Thompson) Brown of Huntington, Bonnie Sue (Timothy) Iscrupe of Avon Lake, Richard Paul (Carolyn) Skeen of Polk; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is also survived by five sisters, Lenora Hall, Freda Coponiti, Virginia Ferguson, Lillie Miller and Nettie Piorkowski. In addition to his parents, Normal was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Naomi M. (nee Whited) Skeen; brothers, Norman, Rubert and Norval Skeen and sisters, Ruth Skeen and Lorene Ports-Smith
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service on Saturday, November 21 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington with Normal's son, Richard, leading the service and a time of remembrance. In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to the American Legion Post 8, 518 S. Main St., Wellington, OH 44090.
