Norman 'Norm' Jensen, 75, of Avon, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Elyria Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was born April 20, 1936 in Elyria, OH, and was an Avon resident his entire life.
Norm graduated from Avon High School and later served in the US Navy Reserves. His pride and joy was the business he owned and operated - Norman Jensen Greenhouse. His plants brought joy to many. He had many laughs with his numerous friends & customers at Jamie's, Hartville and Rogers Flea Markets. Norm attended the Faith Lutheran Church in Avon and was a member of the Farm Bureau.
Norm is survived by his son, Richard (Cyndi) Jensen of Mt Clemens, MI; daughters, Wendy (Denny) Kleibscheidel of Hudson and Jennifer (Jim) Buschur of Wakeman; grandchildren, Alex, Tedi, Madicyn, Annabella & Charlie Jensen, Joseph & Caleb Kleibscheidel, David & Daniel Buschur & Susan Damron; and sister, Mary (Mic) Haag of Avon. Norm was preceded in death by his parents, Niels Peter & Karen (nee Gundersen) Jensen; and brother, James Jensen.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Jim and Pearl Weiland, along with the entire staff at EMH for their loving care and support for Stormin' Norman. His legacy lives on with his Gift of Sight through eye donation.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Faith Lutheran Church, 2265 Garden Drive, Avon, OH 44011. The family will receive friends TWO HOURS prior to the service from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
