Norman Preston Sprecher

Norman Preston Sprecher, 90, of Wellington, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at home with his loving family and friends by his side. Norm was born on June 15, 1935 and grew up in the Cleveland area. He served in the United States Army and eventually made his home in Columbia Station where he raised his family on a horse farm. He and his wife later moved to Ocala Florida to enjoy retirement before moving to Wellington 8 years ago to be with family.

Norman worked as a locksmith and district sales manager with Schlage Lock Company, where he retired after 40 years.

In his free time Norman enjoyed hunting, especially for pheasant on trips to Iowa and boating and fishing on Lake Erie with is sons. An avid Cleveland sports fan, Norman never missed a chance to root on his favorite teams. Before he passed, Norm enjoyed time spent with his family, friends, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews around “Lake Norman”. Most of all he cherished his family, boating and fishing with his sons and his family, watching his granddaughter raise, show and train horses and his grandsons play basketball.

Survivors include his children, Scott (Jill) Sprecher, of Valley City, Sherri Sprecher, of Wellington, and Brad (Wendy) Sprecher, of Ocala, FL; grandchildren, Madison, Nicholas “Cole” , and Luke; and his life time best friends and brother-in-law Clayton and sister-in-law Janey Coleman, of Avon. Norman was preceded in death by his beloved wife Marcia (nee Coleman) in March of 2023.
