Ocal D. Steward, age 62, of Greenwich, died Sunday May 3, 2015 at his home after a long illness. He was born October 7, 1952, in Ashland, son of the late Thelma (Jones) and Fred Steward, Sr. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Ocal worked for R&L Trucking, Norwalk for 25 years. He attended the Greenwich Church of Christ. Ocal loved to fish and spend time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Jannet (Vivas) Steward; daughters, Stephanie Steward, Jenifer (John) Howell, Leaann Steward; sons, Robert (Alysha) Steward, Andy Steward, William (Jamie) Steward; 8 grandchildren; siblings, David (Cindy) Steward, Douglas (Rita) Steward, Dennis (Melinda) Steward, Connie Miller and Cindy (Dave) Neely and sister-in-law, Hazel Steward. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, Fred Steward, Jr. and Clyde Steward. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2015 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 49 West Main St., Greenwich. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Greenwich Church of Christ, 6 Townsend St., Greenwich with Evangelist Carl Snelling officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at Greenwich Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorials if desired may be given to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
