Oma Lee Cox, 79, of Nova, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at her home. She was born in Caryville, TN on February 5, 1935, daughter of the late, Hugh and Daisy Wilson.
She lived in Ashland County for nearly 40 years. Oma enjoyed quilting, listening to Bluegrass music and watching Criminal Minds.
Oma is survived by a daughter, Cathy (Jeff) Braun; sons, Rick Wilson and Dave Cox; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; her special four legged companion, Sparky; sister and caretaker, Jean Ratliff; brother, Robert (June) Wilson; numerous loving nieces and nephews and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Martin Gay Cox; sister, Elzie; brothers, Alfred, Thomas and Leroy and step brother, Scotty Wilson.
The Cox family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and home health aides, Shelby and Shannon Branham, Tonya and Taylor Barcroft and Angie Pifer.
Visitation Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service at Nova Cemetery. To honor Oma's love of Bluegrass music, all "pickers" are encouraged to attend. If desired, memorial contributions may be given to the family in care of Eastman Funeral Home, New London.
