Orpha Mae Warner, 89, of Wellington, Ohio moved to her Heavenly home Saturday, July 30, 2011, from the Elms Retirement Center in Wellington, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Linn, West Virginia, on May 12, 1922, moving to Ohio with her husband in the late 1940's and living in Wellington since 1987. Mrs. Warner was employed at Elyria Nursery School as a cook prior to retiring in 1980. Orpha was an excellent cook, and she enjoyed preparing her many special dishes for her family. She took great pride in her family and in loving and caring for them. She also enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardening, caring for her hummingbirds, crocheting and doing word search puzzles. She also enjoyed attending the LaGrange Engine Club events with her husband. Orpha will be missed by her loving husband of 69 years, Craig Warner; a son, Thomas L. Warner and his wife Teresa; daughter Nancy L. Stein and her husband Dale; daughter Sandra D. Guzman and her husband Phil; sister Cleo Turner of Jane Lew, West Virginia; ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Also surviving are many family members and caring friends who have loved and supported her family during her illness. She was preceded in death by her father Alva Bennett and mother Iza (nee Davis) Bennett, of Linn, West Virginia, five sisters and two brothers. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, August 3, 2011, at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington. Sister Patricia Adam, a Chaplain at New Life Hospice, will officiate. Friends are welcome to join the family immediately after the services at the Wellington Reservation Visitors Center, 535 Jones Road, Wellington. Burial will take place at Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria at a later date. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to New Life Hospice, 5525 N. Abbe Road, Elyria OH 44035.
