Oscar Dale Stewart, 82, of New London, died on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk after a lengthy illness. He was born on August 23, 1931, in Glo, Kentucky, son of the late Jake and Minnie (Gillespie) Stewart. He was a member of the Fitchville Church of Christ and AA. Oscar will be dearly missed by his wife of 59 years, Wanda (Parsons); children, Vanessa (Steve) Anderson of New London, Roy Stewart of Leander, Texas, Mona (Joe Muscaro) Murr of Ashland and Lyn (Anthony Muscaro) Stewart of Norwalk; 8 granddaughters and 2 grandsons, 7 great grandchildren and 5 sisters-in-law, Judy Parsons, Juanita Akers, Ezella Hale, Fay (Edgar) Carroll, and Regina (Henry) Kidd and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Mathew Stewart, Alphia Sizemore, Kathryn Kesner and Jackaleen Stewart. Oscar's family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, December 13, 2013 at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial will follow at Ashland County Memorial Park.
