Patricia 'Pat' Ann (Cole) Floyd, age 59, of Mansfield, died Monday, December 24, 2007 at her home following a short illness. She was born March 25, 1948 in Lodi, Ohio, daughter of the late Marshall and Flora (Biddinger) Cole. She grew up in Wellington and was a 1966 graduate of Wellington High School. She had lived in Ashland and Mansfield. Mrs. Floyd worked in home health care and as a waitress at Bob Evans Restaurant in Mansfield. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Wellington for many years, she had also been a member of the Sullivan Christian Church and had most recently been attending the Ashland Full Gospel Church. Mrs. Floyd was a former member of the Wellington V.F.W. Auxiliary, a former commander of the Navy Mothers Club in Ashland, and a member of the Eagles Club in Ashland. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting, loved helping her neighbors, her gardening, flower beds and traveling the west with her husband.
She is survived by her husband, James Keith Floyd, whom she married November 22, 1972, they had just celebrated their 35th anniversary on Thanksgiving; 2 sons, Jeff Floyd of Portsmouth, Virginia and Jason Floyd of Columbus; a daughter, Jodie Shankle of Akron; 15 grandchildren; 5 sisters, Marsha Chapman and Shirley Searles both of Wellington, Sondra Faight of Elyria, Gloria Dybo of Grafton, Rebecca Brasee of Lagrange; her brother, Gilbert Cole of Wellington; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 5 ' 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at the Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main St., Wellington where funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2007 with Pastor Vernon Gilmore officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington. Memorials if desired may be given to Hospice of North Central Ohio, Inc., 1050 Dauch Dr., Ashland, Ohio 44805.
