Pat A. Stokes, 73, of Ruggles, died Monday, March 28, 2022 at Saint Martin Assisted Living in Ashland.

On January 9, 1949, Pat was born in Spencer to Leo and Geneva (nee Patton) Giar. Pat was a homemaker who lovingly cared for her family. A member of Ruggles Church, Pat also cleaned the church for many years.

She enjoyed gardening, canning, and all other parts of farm life. Pat was always trying new recipes and different cookbooks. A favorite hobby of hers was crocheting. Pat could always be found working the donut trailer at Mapleton school events.

Pat is survived by her children, Scott (Alison) Tyler, of Indiana, Shane (Darcie) Stokes, of Ashland, Buck Stokes, of Columbus, Lonney (Amy) Stokes, of Columbus, Floyd (Erin) Stokes, of Ashland, and Jake Stokes, of Wakeman; 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack A. Stokes in 1999; son, Jack Stokes; daughter, Delores Stokes; and siblings, Bill Mitchell, Hubert Mitchell, Sharon Yeager, James Giar, Lydon Giar and Judy Yeaples.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, April 1 from 5-7 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main Street, New London. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 2nd at 11 a.m. at Ruggles Church, 1364 US 224, Ruggles Township. Burial will follow at Ruggles Township Cemetery.
