Patricia Ann 'Pat' Haines, age 65, of Greenwich, died Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky from injuries sustained in an accident. She was born June 26, 1946 in Berea, Ohio to the late Virgil and Lucille (Musgrave) Kessler. Pat had lived in the Veteran Village in Cleveland until moving to Greenwich in the 1950's. She was a 1964 graduate of South Central High School. Pat had worked at R.R. Donnelly's in Willard in her 20's, at New Haven Supply Co., where she met the love of her life, Robert 'Bob' Haines. She left New Haven Supply to have her 2 beloved children, Robert and Rochelle. She later worked for the Albright Turkey Farm, Sears Catalog Dept. in Mansfield and came back to New Haven Supply.
She was very involved in Girl Scouts, where she was a brownie leader and the 'Cookie Lady,' a Band Booster and Mom. She was a member of the Greenwich United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir, was in leadership, Vacation Bible School craft department and The LOGOS program. Pat loved to be with her family, kids and to travel to Walt Disney World. She will be missed by many friends and her church family.
She is survived by her son Robert Haines, III and Rochelle Haines both of Greenwich; a sister, Margaret Paschall of Ada, Oklahoma; her brother, Ronald Kessler of Maine; 2 sister in law, Jean Hulthen of Stow and Elizabeth Haines of Shelby; 6 nephews, Mark, Michael, Martin and Matthew Hulthen, James Paschall and Eric Kessler; 2 nieces, Mary Annell Taylor and Tamara MacLean; her beloved Emily, Kyle, Alyssa, Ann, Layness and Temi Hulthen, and Tony Billman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Haines, her mother and father in law and grandparents.
Her children are following her wishes and there will be no services. A Memorial services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Eastman Funeral Home, 49 West Main St., Greenwich.
