Obituary

Patricia Lou Savel, 83, of Wellington, passed away under hospice care at her residence on Thursday, January 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 15, 1941, in Champion, PA, she was the daughter of the late Irvin and Mary (nee bowman) Christman.

Pat worked at Farm and Home Hardware for 31 years before retirement. In those years, she met many people, who would become life long friends. Pat was strong in her faith and always kept God at the forefront of her life. She was a member of Norwalk Church of Christ for many years. Pat was formerly a member of the Happy Hearts- a group created by her daughter, to crochet baby hats and donate to local hospitals. She was also a member of the Red Hats in Florida, where she and her husband, John would reside during winter months.

Pat loved her precious moments and had an astonishing collection.   Throughout her life, she traveled with her husband, and sometimes entire family in their motorhomes around the country, making new memories and creating new stories to tell around the campfire. She enjoyed the company of her toy poodles and a good game of cards around the table with her family.  You could always count on her to supply you with endless amounts of candy, giving her the nickname Peppermint Patty. Pat was also a social butterfly and could talk to you about anything, for hours-giving her another nickname,"Chatty Patty". What she will be remembered for most is her compassion, encouraging words, selfless acts of kindness, and true faith.

Left to treasure such an amazing soul are her children, Diana (John) Bizorik, Stephanie Savel, and John (Melissa) Savel;  she was the 'Granny' of 11 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; siblings, Linda (Glen) Fullem, Dee (John) Ritz, and Shirley Wadsworth;  sister in law, Barb Savel Christman and son in law, Lonnie Wayne Freeman.

Pat is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, John Savel Sr.; daughter, Mary Jane Freeman; great grandson, Gabriel Shafer and numerous siblings.

Private services will be held for family and burial at Greenwood Cemetery will take place at a later date.

The family would like to thank Cleveland Clinic Hospice for their compassion and care.

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. " Philippians 4:13
