Patricia A. "Pat" Bilton, 87, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025, at home. She was born on May 9, 1937, in Olena, at home to the late Pearl Ray and Zaida Belle (Furness) Souslin.
Pat was spunky, and in her earlier years stern, but in later years described as sweet by all who came to know her. She was adored by her grandchildren, and was an extremely hard worker. She had been a teacher, receiving her Bachelor Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University. She had also worked at a nursing home where she wore many hats including Nurse's Aide and Activities Assistant. Pat was a Charter Member of Calvary Baptist Church where she had many friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Julie Steinmetz, Sandy (Rich) Carey, and Cindy Bilton; grandchildren, Benjamin, Desiree, Allison, Ingrid, Jonathan, David, Rachel, Kate, and Lisa; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene A. Bilton; her siblings, Mardell Sabatino, Eleanor Avery, Ethel Mills, John Souslin, and Ben Souslin; and son in-law, Patrick Steinmetz.
Her visitation will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, Ohio, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friends and family may also visit on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church, 250 Benedict Ave., Norwalk from 10 a.m. until the time of the 11:30 a.m. funeral service. Pastor Joe Grof will conduct the services and burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Huron County Humane Society, 246 Woodlawn Ave., Norwalk, Ohio 44857.
