Obituary

Paul L. Ashton, age 77, of Nankin, died Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at his home after a long illness. He was born September 15, 1930 in Ruggles, Ohio, son of the late William Kenneth and Jessie May (Doty) Ashton. He lived in the Ruggles and Nova areas until moving to Nankin 30 years ago. Mr. Ashton was a graduate of Ruggles High School. He had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was an Independent Truck Driver and member of the Teamsters. Mr. Ashton retired in 1998 from Custom Hoist in Hayesville, Ohio. He is survived by his wife, Anita M. (Black) Ashton, whom he married September 15, 1956; his children, Sharon (Mark) Anderson of Ashland, Tammy (Tony) Hall of Marion, Rich Ashton of Columbus; 2 grandchildren, Tyler and Tayler Hall; 2 sisters, Doris Mutchler of Ashland and Dorothy Cyrus of Wooster. He was preceded in death by his brother, George Ashton and his sister, Ruth Rogers. Friends may call from 6 ' 8 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2008 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main St., New London where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday with Brother Harry Finkbone officiating. Burial will follow at the Nova Cemetery. Memorials if desired may be given to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Dr., Ashland, Ohio 44805.
