Paul I. Mills, 82, a lifelong Wellington resident, died Monday, March 15, 2010 at his home surrounded by family. Born on May 28, 1927, Paul was the son of the late Paul and Clara (nee Yonkers) Mills. Paul proudly served in the Navy during WWII and was a 1947 Wellington High School graduate.
A self-employed man, Paul was a general contractor for Mills Construction. He was also part owner of M&M Carwash on Kelly Street. He was a member of the Wellington Eagles and American Legion. In his younger years, Paul managed little league baseball teams. He loved to play cards and enjoyed fishing.
He leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Marion (nee Walker); two children, Suzanne (Ken) Zacharias, of Medina and Tom (Mary Jo) Mills, of Wellington; 4 grandchildren, Bryan and Jeff Zacharias, Troy Mills, Trisha Kehl and 2 great grandsons, Max and Zachary. Paul is also survived by his sister, LaDonna Conklin of Wellington. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 17 from 4 ' 8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington with Rev. Lea Mahan officiating. Memorials can be sent to New Life Hospice, 5255 N.
