Paul E. Smith, 42, of Ashland, died Friday, November 27, 2009 following a lengthy illness. Born April 21, 1967 to Jacky and the late Phyllis (nee Kirk) Smith, Paul was a lifelong resident of the Sullivan and Ashland area. He was a 1986 graduate of Black River High School, and went on to serve his country during Desert Storm. Paul worked as a sales rep for Advanced Auto Parts, and in his free time enjoyed playing video games with his son. Paul is survived by his son Zachary May; Fianc'e Carrie May; his father, Jacky Smith, all of Ashland; a brother Kenneth Smith of California; and a sister Mary (Jeff) Shelton of Wellington. Paul was preceded in death by his mother Phyllis. Friends and family will be received Wednesday, December 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington. In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul's memory may be made to the family in care of the Funeral Home.
