Obituary

Paul Thomas 'Tom' Varney, born on March 6, 1946 in Charleston, WV, passed away peacefully at his home in Wellington, OH on Monday, April 26, 2010. He was the son of Paul J. and Edna (nee Parsley) Varney. Paul was a graduate of Magnolia High School in Matewan, WV. He was a Vietnam Veteran who was a Sergeant E-D of the first Calvary Division. Paul worked for B& O and CSX railroads for 44 years. He leaves behind his son, Matthew (Erica) Varney, of Wellington; his brothers, Jack (Davelene) Varney of Varney, WV and Larry (Lillian) Varney of Cleveland; two nieces, Michelle (Tony) Hill and Donna (Chris) Daniels, both of Varney, WV; two special great nephews, Keith Hill and Jacob Rutherford, both of Varney, WV and dearest friends, Ruth Ann May, Earl Reeves and many others. Preceding him in his journey home was his wife, Constance (nee Grimmett) Varney, his beloved parents, and dearest father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe and Jenny Grimmett. Friends and family will be received from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington.
