Peggie Jean Ferguson, 64, of New London, died Monday, November 17, 2008 at FTMC following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born August 26, 1944, in Banner Elk, NC, she was the daughter of the late William Ray and Addie Morene Folds. Peggie graduated from Bob Jones High School, NC in 1962 and moved to New London in 1977.
Peggie worked at New London Regalia, Kent Sporting Goods, and the former C.E. Ward Company and most currently by Thomas Creative Apperal, New London.
She was a member and past president of the New London American Legion Auxiliary 292, attended the Crossroads Community Church, Norwalk and served as a New London Football Booster.
Peggie will be lovingly remembered by husband, Gary; 3 sons, Joseph W. (Tina) Gerlak, Baltimore, Michael W. (Bridget) Gerlak and John A. (Susan) Gerlak, both of New London; 2 step-sons, Gary Lee Ferguson, Daryle Charles (Kristi) Ferguson, both of New London; step-daughter, Shelley Anne (Brian) Speicher, New London; 15 grandchildren; siblings, Ruth Goodin, Norwalk, William Ray Folds, Jr., Denver, CO, Jim (Marty) Folds, Brighton. She was preceded in death by her first husband Ken Gerlak.
Friends may call Thursday, November 20th, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday with Pastor Steve Payne officiating, with burial at Grove Street Cemetery.
