Peggy J. Kovar, 78, of Wellington died Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Mercy New Life Hospice Center in Lorain. A daughter of the late Richard David and Mary Elizabeth (nee Tappan) Jensen, Peggy was born in Elyria on January 28, 1936. She was a 1954 graduate of Wellington High School and went to M.B. Johnson in Elyria to receive a nursing degree.
Peggy worked at Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin for many years after being a long time resident of South West Florida. She enjoyed reading, music and puzzles. Most important to her was the time she spent with her family.
Survivors include her children, Karen (Kevin) McKenzie, of Wellington and Eric (Rhaelynn) DeArmon, of Indianapolis, Indiana; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Ann Butler, of Amherst, and Marylou Mull, of Wellington and a brother, David Richard Jensen, of Michigan. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 30 years, Joseph Kovar.
Visiting hours will take place on Sunday, August 3 from 3:00 p.m. until the 4 p.m. memorial service at the First United Church of Wellington, 127 Park Place, with Rev. Paul Wilson officiating. The family would like to thank the Elms Nursing Home, Allen Mercy Hospital and New Life Hospice for their care and compassion.
