Eastman Funeral Home 419-929-3781 Perry "Red" Stocking, 91, of New London died peacefully at home on Saturday August 10, 2013. He was born on January 15, 1922 in Brighton Township to the late Harry Sr. and Melissa Iona (nee Rockwood) Stocking. He attended Brighton schools. Red was a farmer all of his life, and he loved working with the land. He farmed in the Brighton, Clarksfield, and New London areas. Survivors include his children, Cindy (Gene) Farr of Amherst, and son David (and Fiancé Carolyn Ehmann) Stocking of New London, grandchildren Joshua (Laura) Farr of Huron, Sarah Farr of Norwalk, Melissa (Dave Wilson) Stocking of New London, a sister-in-law Mary Stocking, and 4 great grandchildren. Red was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Lillian, brothers Harry Jr. and Darwin Stocking, and a sister Alberta Barnes, his great granddaughter, Natalie Renee Bucklew.. Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, August 14, from 5-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of services beginning at 12 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main St., New London, with Rev. Herman Bucklew officiating. Burial will follow at Clarksfield Methodist Cemetery. Donations may be made in Red's memory to a charity of the donor's choice.
