Ralph Allen Eaton, 66, of Wellington, died Monday, March 27, 2017 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain while serving as an EMT with North Central EMS. Born on October 2, 1950, he was the son of the late Howard C. and Marvene (nee Shultz) Eaton. Ralph graduated from Wellington High School in 1970 and then joined and proudly served in the United States Air Force. Ralph was an advanced Emergency Medical Technician starting out with Firelands Ambulance and later working for Southern Lorain County, Central Lorain County, and Citizens Ambulance Districts before working full time with North Central EMS. He has served with North Central since 2001. Ralph was a member of the Wellington Eagles, the American Legion, and the Rochester Baptist Church. Ralph enjoyed time outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a Denver Bronco's fan from the time he spent living in Colorado. Ralph enjoyed taking trips to Rural King which he affectionately called the candy shop. He enjoyed giving his time to help others and would volunteer with the Rochester Fire Department as Santa. Most of all Ralph cherished time with his friends and family. Survivors include his loving wife of nearly 11 years Martha (nee Pysarchyk) Eaton; 5 step-children; siblings Marilyn (Bill) McMillan, of Sullivan, Diana (Mike) Mcgee, of New London, Duane (Darlene) Eaton, of Wellington. Friends and family will be received on Thursday, March 30, from 3-7 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington, where services will be held on Friday beginning at 11 a.m. with Rev Art Conrad officiating. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery. Donations in Ralph's memory may be directed to either Rochester Volunteer Fire Department or to the Rochester Baptist Church.
