Ralph Edward Kies ,96, of Norwalk, died Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at his residence.  He was born January 25, 1928, in Lorain, Ohio to the late Dorothy (Jones) and Dewey Kies.  Mr. Kies served in the US Airforce for 4 years, 6 years in California in the National Air Guard and was an independent over the road truck driver.  He was a member of the Penfield Community Church, Wellington American Legion where he was in charge of the Boys State, had a small shop he enjoyed working in and had his pilot license and enjoyed flying small planes.

Mr. Kies was married on August 12, 2017, to Joanne Sanders who survives.  He is also survived by son, William Kies, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and sister, Fay Hornbeck.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Dalton and brother, Don Kies.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. at the Penfield Community Church, 40775 Medina-Norwalk Road (St. Rt. 18), Wellington, Ohio, 44090.  Burial will follow at Penfield Cemetery with military rites.  Memorial Contributions may be made to Penfield Community Church.  Online condolences may be made at www.eastmanfuneralhome.com
