Ralph B. Westfall, 73, of Ashland, died Sunday, March 1, 2009 at Hospice of North Central Ohio, Ashland. He was born February 25, 1936 in Flatwoods, WV, son of the late Frank E. and Ethel (Gillespie) Westfall. He moved to Rochester when he was 5 years old and lived in New London, Fitchville and Savannah. Ralph attended Rochester schools and graduated from New London High School in 1954. He played football on the New London State Championship Team of 1953. Ralph worked as a construction superintendent for 35 years. He worked at Westend Lumber Co. in Greenwich, Bay-Con Corp, Barton Malow Corp, and Shook Construction. He received numerous awards for Safety and Craftsmanship. He was a life member of J.C.I International, and a 41 year member of the Ohio Carpenters Union 940 out of Norwalk. He was a former Boy Scout Troop leader for the New London Boy Scouts. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Patricia A. (Garrett) Westfall; daughters, Deborah (Dale) DeForest of Norwalk, Gayle (David) Harlan of New London, Vickie (Al) Holdren of Ashland, Tabitha (David) Gardner of Savannah; 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Anita (Kenny) Nelson of Greenwich, Nancy (Bill) Gregory of Wellington, Eunice Bardis of New London, Shirley (Corky) Nichols of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Edith Gordy of Wakeman and Ruth Meade of Perrysville. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 6th where a memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London with friend Bernie Ashyk and Rev.
