On Thursday, November 23, 2023, Raymond Otto Braun passed away at age 84 at Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin.

Ray was born on November 15, 1939, in Norwalk, Ohio to Raymond M. & Isabel (Ringlein) Braun. He grew up in the Kipton/Oberlin area and graduated from Firelands High School in 1957. On May 23, 1960, he married Virginia R. Sterrett. They raised two sons, Doug and Chris, and two daughters, Beth and Amy. In December 1990, he wed Mary Borda (Brown). Mary lovingly cared for him for the remainder of his life.

Ray, affectionately known as "Boots", loved fishing and playing cards. He was also an avid reader of western novels and a coin collector. Ray was a member of the Camden Township Volunteer Fire Department and was the manager of the bank in Kipton. He retired from Green Circle Growers after working there for over 30 years.

Ray was preceded in death by his father, Raymond, his mother, Isabel, his brother, Donald (Harriet), his sister, Caroline, and his niece, Collette. He is survived by his partner Mary, his children, Douglas Braun (Brian DeWitt), Beth (Jim) Lambright, Christopher (Robin) Braun, and Amy Aldrich; his grandchildren, Amanda (Brent), David (Ashley), Alicia (Matt), Jevon (Aundria), Cicely (Sam), Michael, and Jonathan; his great-grandchildren, Max, Miles, Emmett, Mila, and Harrison.

Ray is interred with his parents at Camden Cemetery in Oberlin, Ohio.
