Raymond Tolson Dye, 78, of Wellington, died Thursday, August 30, 2018, at EMH University Hospitals Elyria. Born on August 23, 1940 in Maryland, he was the son of the late Bill and Ruth (nee Dye) Klipstein. Raymond moved to Ohio in his youth and was a 1959 graduate of Wellington High School.
For 50 years Raymond worked as a machinist with Lear Romec in Elyria. He was a devout member of the Wellington First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Raymond enjoyed reading as well as spending time outdoors, hunting, tending to his bee hives, gardening, and sharing the bounty of his garden with his church family. Most of all Raymond cherished his family and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his loving wife Mary Lou (nee Moore); sons Dan Dye, of Columbus, and Chad (Michelle) Dye, of Bellevue; grandchildren Grace, Andrew, and Rebecca; siblings Terry Wilson, Gary, Bobby, Jimmy, and Larry Klipstein.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, August 31, from 6-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main St, Wellington, and again on Saturday at the First Baptist Church, 125 Grand Ave, Wellington, from 10 a.m. until the time of services beginning at 11 a.m., Rev. Thomas Alexander will officiate and burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery. Donations in Raymond's memory may be directed to the Wellington First Baptist Church.
