Raymond T. 'Bill' Noss, died Saturday, February 18, 2012 at home after a short illness, he was 104. Bill was born in Shiloh Sept 25, 1907 son of Ransom Ellis and Zella (Fackler) Noss. He grew up in Greenwich and has lived in New London since 1949.
Bill was a conductor for the New York Central Railroad for 44 years working out of Cleveland. He was a 75 year member of the United Transportation Union.
Bill became a charter member of the Greenwich Grange #2576 in 1934. He was an 83 year member of the Masonic Lodge currently with the Golden Rule Lodge #562 and a former Greenwich Volunteer Fireman.
Bill is survived by his wife of 74 years, Donnabelle A. (Briggs) Noss; children, Sue Black of Willard, John (Mary) Noss of New London, Sally (Norman) Kiplinger of Millersville, MO and Jeff Noss of Spencer; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren. He was preceded by sisters, Mary Barnes and Lucille.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London, with a Masonic service at 7:30. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Marty Daly officiating. Burial will follow in Ruggles Cemetery and memorials may be made to the Ruggles Church, 1364 St. Rt. 224, New London, OH 44851 or Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
