Norwalk, Ohio - Raymond L. Riley, 91, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018 in the Stein Hospice Care Center. He was born July 12, 1927 in Norwalk, Ohio, and was a lifelong area resident. Ray was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea. He retired from the Norwalk Fire Department in 1980, and enjoyed golf, and playing cards. Ray is survived by his children, Michael (Rita) Riley of Austin, Texas, William (Lorraine) Riley of Aiken, South Carolina, Maureen (Jim) Steinberger, of Fremont, Ohio, Sheila (Gary) Meikle of Norwalk, Ohio, Janine (Dave) Collins of Grafton, Ohio, and 14 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters in law: Linda Riley of Michigan, Margaret Riley of Hadley, Massachusetts, and Dee Riley of Norwalk, Ohio. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard W. Riley in 1983, and Eleanor C. (Weichel) Riley 1971, by his first wife, Trudy (Schlachter) in 1985, by his second wife, Dawn (Adams) in 1997, by his daughter, Cinda Wegner in 2006, by his brothers, Leon, Paul, Donald, Alvin, Howdy, Frank and Fred, and by his sisters, Sister Charlotte Riley, and Helen Bister. There will be no calling hours. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 1322 Settlement Road, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Ronald Schock will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
