Rebecca R.E. Abernathy, 54, a lifelong resident of Greenwich died on Monday, January 18, 2021 at Fisher Titus Medical Center in Norwalk. She was born in Willard on June 10, 1966 to the late Lloyd and Nancy (nee Trushel) Rapp. She was a 1984 graduate of South Central High School.

Rebecca worked for the Greenwich Beverage Center for 6 years prior to working at MTD in Willard.  Rebecca was always kind and known for putting others before herself.  She liked cooking, hiking and her dogs.  Her family was the most important aspect of her life.

She is survived by her son, Cody Abernathy; siblings, Teresa (Scott) Smith and LeeAnne (Mike) Thien; multiple fur babies and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sons, Tyler and Dillon Abernathy.
