Reggie Dayton Sutphin, 85, of Brunswick, died on April 13, 2026 at the Thomas Perciak Family Residential Hospice. On January 10, 1941, Reggie was born to the late Albert and Oma (Workman) Sutphin. Reggie grew up in WV and moved to Ohio in the 1960s. A welder by trade, Reggie worked at Halvorsen Company in Garfield Heights for many years.
A member of the Wellington Freewill Baptist Church, Reggie lived his faith daily. He was also active in both the Cuyahoga and Lorain County Freewill Baptist Conferences. Reggie belonged to AWS, a Welder’s group, for many years.
He loved music and had a large vinyl collection. Reggie could always be counted on to get things done and loved helping out his family and friends. He lived his life keeping God first in his life.
Reggie leaves behind his beloved daughters, Kelly (Dan-deceased) Sutphin-Savage, of Brunswick, and Jenny (Bob) Prechtel, of Valley City; grandchild, Taylor Prechtel; and sister, Carol Gardner. He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 54 years of marriage, Gail; granddaughter, Abigail Prechtel, and siblings, Dewey Sutphin and Phyllis Holbrook.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 17th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Wellington Freewill Baptist Church, 205 Woodland Ave, Wellington, 44090 where services will be held on Saturday at 11 am with Pastor Willie Bias officiating. Burial will take place on Monday at Eastlawn Memory Gardens, Brunswick. Expressions of sympathy can be shared at www.norton-eastmanfuneralhome.com.
