Renee Lynn Polan, 31, of Norwalk, died unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, December 22, 2010. Born on January 28, 1979 in Cleveland, OH, she and her family moved to New London in 1988. She was a 1997 graduate of New London High School, where she attended accounting classes at EHOVE. In 1998 she began attending Cumberland College and lived in nearby Somerset, KY, where she met her husband, James Calhoun. Following the birth of their children, they moved to Norwalk, OH, where they have made their home for the past nine years. Quadax, Inc. has been her 'professional home' for six years. She leaves behind her husband, James Calhoun; son, Dakota Lee and daughter, DonnaJo Katherine, both at home; three sisters, Lorie Ann (Allan King) Polan of Canada, Veronica Lee (Jason) Knoll of Norwalk and Nancy Marie (Steven) Houston of Wakeman; two nephews and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Edward and Donna Marie (Papke) Polan and aunt, Joanne Papke. Those who knew Renee will always remember her for her warm heart and kind smile. Today we lost a devoted and beloved mother, wife, sister and friend. Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London where a memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday night.
