Reyes "Ray" Ibarra, 89, of Wakeman, Ohio, died on September 27, 2023, at home. He was born on April 13, 1934, in San Benito, Texas to the late Miguel and Julia (Huerta) Ibarra.
Ray enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. He was an avid Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Guardians, and Dallas Cowboys fan, and a retired Karate Instructor. Ray retired from Ford Motor Company after many years of service.
He is survived by his children, Teresa Grose of Elyria, Ohio, Patricia Ibarra of Columbus, Ohio, Miguel Ibarra of Sandusky, Ohio, Melida Jones of Wakeman, Ohio, Diane Wilhelm of Montgomery, Alabama, and Verneita (John) Ibarra of Greenwich, Ohio; 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; siblings, Lazaro Ibarra of Brownsville, Texas, and Candelaria (Dimas) Flores of Victoria, Texas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Joan (Garcia) Ibarra; brothers, Jose Ibarra, and Pablo Ibarra; sisters, Juanita Fuentes, Lupita Diaz, Carmen Ibarra, and Mary Stuart.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial gathering on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, Ohio, from 11 a.m. until noon. A brief service will be held at 12 p.m. (noon). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fresenius Kidney Care, 290 Benedict Ave., Norwalk, Ohio, 44857.
