Richard C. Berger, Jr.

March 8, 1969 – November 9, 2021

Richard C. Berger, Jr., 52, residing in Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021 due to complications from COVID-19.

Richard was born on March 8, 1969 in Norwalk, OH to Ruth (Rupp) Furyes and Richard C. Berger, Sr.

Richard proudly served his country as a member of the United States Military. For 11 years, he was an aviation structural mechanic second class for the Navy. Richard was also employed by Duncan Aviation for over 20 years as a mechanic who worked on Gulfstream aircrafts. He was a member of the Norwalk VFW. Richard had a passion for the skies and enjoyed being a private pilot and building model airplanes.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Crystal (Chad) Wilke of Lorain, OH; 3 grandchildren, Daniel Bonds, Cheyenne Bonds and Emma Wilke; father, Richard (Marlene) Berger, Sr. of Norwalk, OH; mother, Ruth (David) Furyes of Cleveland, OH; step-siblings, David Schindler and Susan Schindler, both of Norwalk, OH and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, OH 44857. Services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 11 am. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery with military honors.
