Richard C. Fox, 70, of Wellington, died Monday, November 20, 2017 at Allen Medical Center in Oberlin. Born on February 1, 1947 in Oberlin, he was the son of the late Forrest and Dorothy (nee Crile) Fox. Rick was a lifelong resident of the Wellington area and a graduate of Wellington High School. Rick proudly served in the United States Air Force which included a tour in Vietnam from 68-69.
Rick worked as a quality control engineer for various aerospace companies including working on B1 bomber and space shuttle programs. He was a life member of the 366th Gun Fighters Association, the Amvets Post 162, and was a member of the Wellington American Legion and VFW. An outdoorsman, Rick loved hunting and fishing and was a skilled woodworker. He was also a devoted fan of Nascar racing.
Survivors include his loving wife, Jill (nee Conrad); children Richard C. Fox Jr, Christopher (Mary Claire) Fox, and Dorothy (Michael) Hozan; grandchildren Charles Fox, Nickolas Fox, Joseph Fox, and Michael Fox. Richard was preceded in death by his parents Forrest Fox and Dorothy Fox Bowerize.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, November 24, from 5-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main St., Wellington, 44090. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington. Donations may be directed to Valor Home, 221 West 21st Street, Lorain, 44052.
