Richard C. Carruthers, 77, of Penfield, passed away in his sleep at his home on Monday, February 7, 2011. He was born on July 25, 1933 in Penfield where he was raised. He worked at General Motors for 37 years as a Tool and Die Maker and managed Howard Johnson. Richard served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Ann (nee Padyjasek); daughters, Rhonda, Tammy and Karen; grandchildren, Gerald, Richard, Jeremy and Jamie; granddaughter-in-law, Jennifer; great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Christopher and Nickolas and his brother, Kenneth Carruthers of TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mildred Carruthers; brothers, Robert and Keith and a sister, Ruth Edwards. A celebration of life will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at the Penfield Township Hall.
