Richard Marion Dewalt, 95, of Norwalk, Ohio passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022. He was born on April 27, 1926 to the late Pearl (Graham) and Clark Dewalt.

Richard was a 1944 graduate of Birmingham High School. After graduation, Richard served in the United State Army Air Corps at the end of World War II, and he was honorably discharged in 1946. He worked for 27 years at Martin Motors, and he worked for almost 10 years at Ed Mullinax before his retirement. Richard was an avid airplane enthusiast and received his pilot license at just 14 years old. Richard enjoyed restoring and painting classic cars, attending car shows, and spending time with his family. He was a good husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his children, Ardith Dewalt and Cynthia (William Adkins) Dewalt; daughter-in-law, Mary Dewalt; grandchildren, Ron Hall, Richard Dewalt, Rodney Dewalt, Michael Dewalt, and Jerod Dewalt; great-grandchildren, Ronny Hall, Wyatt Dewalt, Willow Dewalt, and Griz Dewalt; and twin sister, Ruth Sommers.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Bonny Dewalt; son, William Dewalt, and siblings, Verna Knott, Dorothy Knott, and Dale Dewalt.

His family will receive guests at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London, Ohio 44851 on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his service at 12:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Camden Township Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting eastmanfuneralhome.com
