Richard L. "RL" Garner, 82, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2024, at Providence Care Center in Sandusky.  He was born on July 1, 1942, in Norwalk, Ohio, to the late Cecil and Marjorie (Eastman) Garner.  Richard graduated from Western Reserve High School (formerly Townsend High School).

An auctioneer and realtor for over 45 years, Dick was on the Firelands Board of Realtors, and operated Garner and Associates Realty Company.  He enjoyed eating out, especially at Berardi's in Sandusky, where the staff really went above and beyond in taking care of him.  He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, yard work, and time with grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughters, Gina (Jeff) Herner of Sandusky, Tonia Garner of Sunbury; siblings, Shirley Krupp of Bellevue, and Randy Garner of Nova; grandchildren, Cassi (Mark) Brown, Logan (Madeline) Francisco, Levi (Shannon) Pflieger, Bryce (LaShonda) Pflieger, Cody (Liz) Pflieger, Chelsea Pflieger, Blaine (Cheyenne) Pflieger, Taylor (Lacy) Pflieger, Seth Garner, and Michael Croxal III; 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, RL was preceded in death by his wife Sandra (Valentine) Garner, in 2016; siblings, Lois Wilson and Bobbie Knudsen; granddaughter, Shelby Lynn Pflieger; great granddaughter, Guinevere Wren Pflieger.

The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff at Providence Care Center, for the loving care Richard aka "Hot Rod", and they received.  They would also like to thank Berardi's in Sandusky for taking care of RL.

A memorial visitation is planned for Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W.
