Richard A. Koenig, 78, of Wellington, died Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at his home. He was born June 27, 1937 in Cleveland. Richard (Rich) proudly served his country as a Marine Corporal. He lived in Lorain County for most of his adult life. An avid fan of baseball, Rich was an accomplished player in his own right. Since his retirement Rich was able to enjoy his favorite pastimes which included fishing, golfing, and bowling. He and his fiancée went on many vacations, enjoyed dancing, and VFW events. Richard is survived by his fiancée, Beatrice Greer; son, Edward (Paula) Koenig; daughter, Janice (Raymond) Hoffman; son, Mark (Christy) Koenig; grandchildren, Steven Hoffman, Benjamin (Chelsey) Hoffman, Cathrine (John) Short, Alex, Andrew, Matthew, Phillip, and Emily Koenig; sisters Lori (David) Harlow and Carol Gembus; brother, Robert (Sue) Koenig.
