Richard Owen Simonson, 87, of Texas, passed away on April 8, 2021 at the Gardens at Chisholm Trail in Keene, Texas. He was born on November 2, 1933, the son of the late Dorothy (nee Miller) and George Simonson. Richard lived in Huntington Township many years before moving to Texas.

Richard proudly served in the US Army, and was stationed in Germany. An artist with a bulldozer, Richard worked for several construction companies in Lorain County as a heavy equipment operator. He then worked at the Lorain shipyards as a crane operator. Richard later worked throughout the southern states building water parks. Richard was a member of the VFW, American Legion and Amvets.

He is survived by his daughter, Vicky Lee (Don) Kostecki, grandsons Ryan and Nick Kostecki; and great grandchildren   ; step children Keith Billbury, Vicky (Tim) McGuire, and Penny;  brothers, Terry (Joni) Simonson, and Tim (Leslie) Simonson; numerous nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his loving wife, Doris; step children Shelia Ray, and Angie; sister, Rebecca Simonson; and his best friend Harold Kramer.
