Richard John Telenko, 87, of Wellington, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023.
On August 27, 1935, Richard was born to parents John and Mary (nee Semicek) Telenko in Cleveland. He graduated from West Tech High School and served his country for eight years in the Navy Reserves.
A draftsman by trade, Richard worked as a plumbing and pipe designer for 8 years for Dow Chem, Anheuser Busch and Kellogg. He designed puffing towers for Kellogg and was very proud of the 8 story high towers. Richard was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Wellington and the Wellington Eagles Aerie #2051. He was also a pilot, who often flew out of Oberlin. Richard enjoyed camping with his wife Carolyn. For 20 years he recorded recitals for Janic's Dance Studio.
Richard is survived by brothers, Edward and William. He was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Carolyn Grace (nee O'Connor) Deshuk and his brother, Thomas.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, June 16 from 10 a.m. until 10:45 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington. A procession will leave from the Funeral Home to St. Patrick Catholic Church for an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial, 512 N. Main Street, Wellington, with Rev. David Trask officiating.
