Obituary

Richard W. Williams, age 54, of Norwalk, died Friday, October 19, 2007 at Twilight Gardens in Norwalk, surrounded by family. He had resided there for the past 2 years. He was born November 23, 1952 in Norwalk. He was a 1972 graduate of Huron High School and the Auto Mechanics program at EHOVE. Richard was proud of his military service with the U.S. Army and Company C 612 Eng. Bn. Army National Guard of Norwalk. He received a letter of commendation from the U.S. Army Co. D 3rd Battalion 5th Training Brigade at Ft. Dix, NJ for most outstanding solder of his platoon. His employers include, Huron Lime Company, Norwalk Waste Materials and several area trucking companies, he drove for. He adored his grandchildren and enjoyed family gatherings. He also loved country music, line dancing, riding ATV's, camping, fishing and hiking. Richard is survived by 3 sons, David W. Williams of Tiffin, James A. (Angela) Williams of Greenwich and Benjamin P. (Kelly) Williams of North Fairfield; a daughter, Rebecca L. (Timothy) Parsons of Mansfield; former wife, Bridget Enderby of Greenwich; father & step-mother, Donald G. & Mary Williams of Norwalk; 5 sisters, Sally A. Garlock of Toledo, Donna C. (Nick) Phillips of Norwalk, Julie A. Carvalho of North Hills, PA, Nancy L. (Arthur) Williams of Dunedin, FL and Estelle L. Zacharyasz of Norwalk; a brother, Jerry (Monica) Williams of Norwalk; 11 grandchildren; 3 step sisters, Debbie Wobser, Gail Boales and Paula Chesser; 5 step brothers, Larry Ross and Tom Ross and Robert Croll, Jr., James Croll and Timothy Croll; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn C. Croll; step father, Robert Croll, Sr.; a brother, Timothy P. Williams; and a brother in law, Steve Carvalho. Interment will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2007at Woodlawn Cemetery in Norwalk with military rites conducted. Memorial services will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Freewill Baptist Church, 670 Keefer St., Willard with Pastor Ron Parsons officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family in care of Eastman Funeral Home, 49 W. Main St., Greenwich.
