Richard "Rick" M. Wood, age 62, of New London passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 5, 2025. Born October 23, 1962 in Berea, Ohio, he was the son of Richard Anthony and Dorothy A. (Mariano) Wood. Rick earned an associates degree in automotive technology and enjoyed working on cars for many years.

A true outdoorsman, Rick enjoyed spending time in the yard and gardening. He was known to read anything and everything and loved listening to music. He was passionate about racing and spent countless days at Summit, 42, and many other area tracks both racing and as a mechanic. On and off the track, many friends knew him as "Woody," and he cherished the time that was spent with those he loved.

Left to treasure Rick's memory are his wife, Jenifer (Frank); son, Zachary Wood of Tennessee; sister, Debra (Thomas) Zifcheck; and nephew, Michael. In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by an infant daughter, his maternal and paternal grandparents; and a nephew, Danny.
