Rita Louise Perry, 92, of Wellington, died Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Elmcroft Senior Living in Lorain.
Born on May 13, 1922 in Chicago, Rita was the daughter of the late Charles and Susan Koller, Austrian immigrants.
Rita met her husband, Jack, in Chicago while he was stationed at Navy Pier. The couple wed on January 30, 1945 in Key West. While in Chicago she worked for General Electric. Upon moving to this area, she worked at Wellington Hospital as an office manager, she also played an important part in the family business, Perry Motor Sales, alongside her husband.
She was a member of the Wellington American Legion Auxiliary. A very social person, Rita loved her time with friends. She and Jack adored their grandchildren and enjoyed traveling with them on many cruises and staying in Florida. Rita loved keeping up her home and working on her flower gardens and landscaping.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan (David) Coleman, of Amherst; granddaughter, Erin (Troy) Gerber and their children, Karis and Kaden Clotz and Troy Gerber Jr.; grandson, Ryan (Jill) Coleman and their children, Kamille, Jack,and Kallahan Coleman; brother-in-law, Jim (Nancy) Perry and sisters-in-law, Elaine MacGarry and Anne Perry, as well as several nieces and nephews. Rita was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Jack, and siblings, Frieda, Fred and Edna.
A private service was held. In lieu of flowers, the Perry family suggests donations to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave. Cleveland, Ohio 44110 or to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O.
