Robert Allen "Bob" Swesey, 73, of Wellington, OH died Saturday, October 17, 2015 at his home under the care of Hospice of the Western Reserve. The son of John W. and Naomi (nee Norris) Swesey, Bob was born on July 25, 1942 in Oberlin, OH. A 1960 Wellington High School graduate, Bob served in the Army Signal Corps from 1960 until 1963. Throughout his life he made his home in many different areas, including cities in FL, TX and GA.
Bob excelled professionally in life as a manager. He had an innate ability to inspire those who worked for him and finding good people to work with him for a common goal. He managed companies producing wire and synthetic rope in Texas to burglar and fire alarm companies in Florida, all extremely successful. Bob also owned and operated his own trucking company as well as his own mini-blind business.
Bob was a member of the American Legion and the Wellington Eagles, as well as a Charter Life member of the American Motorcycle Association. Bob enjoyed working and racing cars and motorcycles when he was younger. Most of all Bob loved to be able to give his children and grandchildren the life experiences needed to become successful adults. Time with family was precious.
Bob is survived by his wife Kay (nee Carpenter); children David Scott (Suzanne) Swesey, of Davenport Iowa, Robin Lynn (Ty) Raymond of Woodlands TX, Mark Allen Swesey, of Pawleys Island SC, and Robert Thomas (Christy) Swesey of Jacksonville FL; grandchildren Katie, Emma, Ally, Ty, Tyler, Trent, Roan, Cole, and Hailee; and sisters Patricia Sumner of Fort Pierce FL, and Mary Ellen Cox of Blairsville GA.
