Obituary

Robert Emmett Bradley, 88, of Wellington, died Saturday, January 1, 2011 at the Elms Retirement Home in Wellington. Robert was born on June 15, 1922 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island and was raised in that area before moving to Chicago in the 1950's and then to Wellington in 2002. A graduate of Brown University, Robert also was a veteran of WWII with the 388th Bombardment Group. On October 26, 1957, he married Mary Ann Schultz and the couple spent 48 happy years together. For 40 years, Robert was an Accountant for Kemper Insurance Company in Long Grove, IL. He retired in 1987. He was a member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church and the VFW, both in Wellington. His hobbies included golfing, puzzles, sudoko, reading and spending time with his grandkids. He will be remembered for his smiling personality, his quiet wit, and his warm and compassionate heart. Survivors include his children, Susan (Frank) Martin and Karen (Jay) Weidner; grandchildren, Bradley, Becky and Kate Weidner and Nicholas, Jillian and Ashleigh Martin and sister, Grace Miley. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary in 2006 and brothers, Henry and Ray. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 7, 2011 from noon until the 2 p.m. service at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington. Father James Reymann will conduct the service and burial with military rites will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington.
