Robert A. Close, 57, of New London, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022. He was born on March 7, 1964, to the late Corrine (Hunter) and Oscar Close. He grew up in the Collins, Ohio area and attended Western Reserve High School. Bob enjoyed Native American history, searching for arrowheads, nature hikes, listening to Pink Floyd, and drinking a decent cup of coffee alongside a good conversation. He loved his family and was an amazing Papa Bob to his granddaughter "Lulu".

He is survived by his daughter, Kerrie Close; granddaughter, Cindy Lou Shepherd; uncle, Blair (Deb) Hunter; siblings, Carrie (Jeff) Ballard, Mary (Shaun) Irwin, Marvin (Mary) Close, and Daniel (Kristy) Close. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Cindy Sue Close, grandparents, Mary "Toots" & Bartshe Mitchell; grandfather, Willie Hunter, and special friend, Bonnie Ross.

His family will receive guests at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London, Ohio 44851 on Thursday, February 17, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Friday, February 18, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at11:00 a.m. with burial at Fitchville Cemetery to follow.
