Robert Lee "Bob" Combs, age 51, died at his home in Mansfield after a sudden illness. Bob was born in LaGrange, Indiana, on May 3, 1959 to the late Franklin Combs and Bessie (Spencer) Lewis. He lived in the Willard area before moving to Florida in 1982. He had returned to the Mansfield area three years ago.
Bob graduated from Plymouth High School in the class of 1978. He worked as welder for most of his career, but his real passion was music. He formed many bands, including his most successful, the Robert Lee Combs and the Southern Electric Band.
He is survived by four children: Robert Clifton Combs and Kristin Blair Combs of Clarksville, TN, and Brandy Nicole Combs and Travis Lee Combs of Orlando, FL and four grandchildren: Blaze Bronson Combs, Aubrey Paige Combs, Evan Nathaniel Reign Combs, and Alexander Joseph Combs. He is also survived by four siblings: Frank Combs, Angela Siesel, Nita Beverly, and Mike Combs. He was preceded in death by his brother Chuck Lazar and sister Tracie Janzen.
Friends may call Tuesday beginning at 11 am at the Eastman Funeral Home, 49 West Main Street, Greenwhich, OH 44837. The funeral service will be held at 1 pm. The burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
