Robert Louis Kozel Sr, 85, of New London passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on July 20, 2018. He was born on September 23, 1932. Robert was a kind and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who cherished his family and his faith. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where he devoted his time in service to the church, through the Knights of Columbus. he was a also a member of the Farm Bureau and the Lions Club of Nova. he served in the US Army from 17 Nov, 1953-16 Nov, 1955. he retired from GM in 1987 but worked all of his life as a farmer. Robert worked his small farm and loved the outdoors. he enjoyed hunting, camping with family, working in his vegetable garden, picking apples, and cutting fire wood. Robert is survived by his children, Holly (Dan) Baker, of Columbus, Debora Kozel, of Sycamore, Robert (Michelle) Kozel, Jr, of Johnstown, Mary (Richard) Gaunt, of Columbus, Cathy (Bert) Holzwart, of Findlay, Steve (Amy) Kozel, of Upper Sandusky, Karen Clark and Brenda Kozel, both of Columbus, and Sharon Kozel, of Wooster; 16 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Carol White, of Wakeman. Robert was preceded in death by his wife Sylvia, his son Michael, and daughter Patricia. Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. with a Rosary service beginning at 7:45 at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West main St, New London, 44851. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, July 26, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 18 Park Ave, New London 44851beginning at 11 a.m. Rev. Fr. Kishore will officiate and burial will take place at the Holy Cross Cemetery, New London.
